  I rented from Gile Gibbons two years ago and found him to be a horrible landlord. If something went wrong, he wouldn't fix the problem without yelling at us about there being an issue. Then, on the day I moved out, he decided that our house was not clean enough for his liking, and found it appropriate to call me WHILE I WAS AT WORK to swear and yell at me. Because of his perceived lack of cleanliness in the house, we lost our entire security deposit and were charged extra on top of that. Strangely enough, I found out that our neighbors, who also rented from Gile and kept a perfectly spotless house, were charged the same amount over their security deposit as we were. I highly suspect Gile to be charging well over the appropriate amount for the cleaning just to further fleece poor college students. Initially, I was going to let this whole incident go, but those neighbors told me he had contacted them to beg for a positive review, as he only had negative reviews. It truly says a lot about the person when they have to ask for positive reviews, instead of earning them. Long story short: Gile is an immature, unprofessional landlord who will take all your money. DO NOT RENT FROM HIM.

• Review of "Bluffview Montessori School" at Winona

  We've had four kids go through Bluffview over the past ten years, and have been extremely pleased with our experience. The Montessori philosophy encourages kids to explore the prepared learning environment, which allows freedom and initiative within carefully set boundaries. Each child has an individualized learning plan. We have had kids who were ready to zoom ahead, and were free to do so; we have had other kids who have struggled in certain areas, and were supported with extra attention and interventions as necessary. Our kids get one-on-one and small group instruction every day, and peer learning and teamwork is also a daily experience. Kids learn creative problem-solving and develop teamwork and initiative -- all skills that are in high demand by employers these days. Plus, we've seen kids graduate from here go on to succeed in high school and beyond. The downside would be the same as at any other free public charter school -- without local taxing authority, funds are limited, which leads to certain challenges; fortunately, these are somewhat mitigated by a generous staff and strong parent involvement.

  Got riped off at ATM for two hundred dollars didn't deposit my money. Manager standing there and seen it and wouldn't do anything. Said kwik trip is not responsible for there atms. But not said on commercials and ate definitely not free I get charged .85c each time. Will not use again.
